High Intensive Care Needs

High Intensive Care Needs (HICN) refer to the specific requirements of individuals who have complex, severe, and often multiple disabilities, resulting in a high level of dependency on others for their daily living activities. Individuals with high intensive care needs typically require extensive and specialised support, often involving medical, personal care, behavioural, and emotional assistance. Individuals with HICN often have significant medical needs that require constant monitoring and specialised medical care by our highly trained nursing staff. Our extremely professional staff provide assistance with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility. Individuals may require round-the-clock support with these activities.

Support for individuals with High Intensive Care Needs involves a multidisciplinary approach, often involving healthcare professionals, therapists, social workers, and caregivers. Tailored and comprehensive care plans are crucial to ensuring the safety, comfort, and quality of life for individuals with these complex and intensive support requirements.

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is a key support under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) it refers to accommodation specifically designed to cater for the needs of people with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs.

SDA aims to provide housing solutions for individuals with disabilities (often those with complex medical conditions, intellectual disabilities, or behavioural challenges.)who require specialised housing due to the nature and extent of their disability. It offers a supportive and accessible environment tailored to the unique needs of the residents.

SDA is designed to accommodate the specific needs of people with disabilities. These dwellings are equipped with features like wider doorways, accessible bathrooms, and adaptable kitchens.

Alongside the accommodation, SDA residents receive specialised support services to assist with daily living activities, personal care, and any medical or behavioural needs. Support staff is trained to cater to the unique requirements of the residents.

Residents are encouraged to participate in community activities and live as autonomously as their abilities allow.

Specialist Disability Accommodation is a vital component of our services, providing tailored housing solutions for individuals with complex needs. It not only offers a secure and accessible living space but also enables residents to engage with their communities and live with dignity and independence.
